To start everything off, we aren't over the age of 18. No joke. Making trips to play shows that are more than seven hours away and to in-town crowds of 1000+ usually does not fall into place for bands that have been together for 20 years, let alone teens that havent even hit RESPONSIBLE.
In a decently sized, wacky college town named Springfield, MO; Benefit of a Doubt was formed in the summer of 2001.
Two years, two members finally in high school and two demos later, original bassist, Kyle Davis left the band and B.O.A.D. gained new bassist, Kyle T. The band continued to grow musically after recording a 3-song demo and became tighter as they played local shows around their city, gaining what experience, ears and friends provided from the exciting shows being put on.
In the Summer of 2004, Evan was added as their second guitarist and in the fall of 2004, B.O.A.D. recorded a 14-song demo with Tommy Dwire (Fools Face) in preparation for the upcoming studio collaboration with Producer, Jim Wirt (Something Corporate, Letter Kills, Live, Hoobastank, Alien Ant Farm, etc). Which never went through.
In late May soon after school let out, B.O.A.D. recorded their first fully produced EP; "With This, We Win" @ Presto Studios (Lincoln, NE) by AJ Mogis, brother of Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes.) It was released in October under SUCKAPUNCH RECORDS.
Shows have simply become much bigger, better and even more fun since the cd release. With great anticipation for their first month long tour this summer and possible 3-way split CD between Nebraska locals: JV Allstars and Haven 21. B.O.A.D. hopes to have the Midwest at storm by 2007 when they decide to release a brand new Full Length record.
"In the back of my mind I just know every other 15 year old kid probably wishes they were in Dillon's position, when I was 15, I barely got to go to a show, let alone go on tour haha." - Evan
